My late grandfather, E.O. Cartwright, took us to Sportsman's Lodge in 1987. We caught Northern Pike and Lake Trout and the local Indian guides cooked for us on the islands. Great time, magnificent place.

My dad has gone here over 30 times, and it's not a quick trip from the southern US, but its absolutely a worthwhile one.

Best fishing anywhere in all of North America. Only way you couldn't catch fish is if you don't have your lure in the water! Tons of walleye and absolutely massive northern pike. If pike fishing is your game, I recommend using a Blue Fox lure, I caught a 44in northern on one of those.

My grandparents and I took a trip to Sportsmans Lodge back in July 1998. I couldn't tell you what changes have been made in the last 18 years but while we were there it was the BEST fishing trip I have ever been on and still is to this day! Flying into the lodge and landing on the water, having your own private cabin with home cooked meals at Breakfast and Dinner with shore lunch everyday, clean air and wildlife everywhere, crystal clear water...what more could you possible ask for? Ruffo and his staff are second to none and the fishing is just absolutely phenomenal. Its been 18 years and I still remember it like it was yesterday.

If you are looking for a place to go fishing and build lifetime memories this is without a doubt the best place to visit. One day, I hope to be able to bring my kids along and revisit this wonderful place.
